Developers share draft plans for Tivy Commons

After closing on the former Hal Peterson Middle School property in 2022, the investment group of owners have been working to formalize plans for its development, which will include national retail stores, restaurants and residential units, as well as a boutique hotel.

A nod to the property’s rich history, the property owners decided to name the project Tivy Commons, which will be located on 25.5 acres in the 1700 block of Sidney Baker. Nearly half of the investment group of owners are local residents in the Hill Country.

“Right now, we are working through some infrastructure issues and identifying retailers for the project. That is where we are today with the project,” said J. David Williams, a local banking executive and one of the investment group owners, “I have to tell you, there is a lot of interest from retailers, and it is very exciting.”
